Everest and Annapurna may share the same skyline, but the journeys work differently. Everest routes usually hinge on the Lukla flight and gain altitude early. Annapurna offers more road access, a wider choice of trail lengths and an easier connection with Pokhara. Langtang sits closer to Kathmandu and suits travelers who want a shorter mountain route without treating it as a lesser trek. Away from the trail, Kathmandu is worth more than an arrival night: its old royal squares, courtyards and pilgrimage sites reward a proper guide. Pokhara slows the pace beside the lake, while Chitwan changes the landscape completely, from Himalayan foothills to riverine forest and grassland. Build the itinerary from the hardest constraint first. For a high trek, that is usually acclimatization. For a mixed cultural journey, it may be road time or a domestic flight. Once that is fixed, comfort level, private guiding and extensions become much easier to judge.
