Prerequisites And Preparation To Sign Up For This Trek
A sense of adventure is a great starting point, but proper preparation is the key to a successful trek. Ensuring you meet the required fitness level and prerequisites will help you make the most of this EBC with Chola Pass and Gokyo Lakes trekking journey.
Four main reasons...
Everest Base Camp first as it allows you to experience the legendary EBC route while completing the necessary acclimatization process. This gradual progression ensures you are better prepared physically for the demanding Cho La Pass crossing.
To ensure you don't miss the region's greatest highlights- Everest Base Camp- even if weather conditions or health concerns prevent you from crossing the pass.
Many trekkers, guides, porters as well as local experts prefer counterclockwise route t Cho La Pass as it offers a more gradual ascent, earlier technical sections and better acclimatization before the final crossing.
Gokyo offers better accommodation options, even among standard lodges compared to Gorakshep. This makes it a perfect place to unwind and recharge after completing the three major milestones of the trek.
