Nepal is one of the world’s leading mountaineering destinations, offering access to some of the highest and most challenging peaks in the Himalayas. Home to eight of the world’s fourteen mountains above 8,000 metres, the country attracts experienced climbers seeking technically demanding ascents, high-altitude challenges and professionally organised expeditions. Our mountain expeditions in Nepal include objectives such as Ama Dablam, Baruntse, Pumori, Manaslu, Lhotse, Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. Each mountain presents different technical requirements, route conditions, altitude challenges and expedition durations, allowing climbers to choose an objective suited to their previous experience and long-term mountaineering goals. A Himalayan expedition involves much more than reaching the summit. The journey includes trekking to base camp, establishing a gradual acclimatisation schedule, preparing equipment, practising climbing techniques and waiting for a suitable weather window. Depending on the mountain, climbers may encounter steep snow slopes, glaciers, crevasses, exposed ridges, fixed-rope sections and extreme high-altitude conditions. Most expeditions require previous mountaineering experience, strong physical preparation and the ability to operate safely in demanding environments.
