Manaslu Trek with Larkya la Pass

Overview

Trip overview

A quick summary of the route, support level, and the main things travelers should know before booking.

Manaslu Trek with Larkya La pass, Manaslu Circuit Trek or even Around Manaslu Trek- all these names direct you no where else, but towards a very genuine adventure around the world’s eighth highest mountain Manaslu (8,163m). A genuine adventure, because following  the ancient salt-trade-route of Tibet along the Budhi Gandaki River, the trail passes through the subtropical jungle at lower elevation and  the Himalayan foothills to the high, freezing and demanding Larkya La Pass above 5000m; offering everything that classic treks in Nepal have to offer. The deep gorges with spectacular trails connected by bridges, snow covered pass, a rich Ecotone diversity, and nineteen different types of forests providing shelter to 2000 species of plants, 33 mammals, 110 species of birds, 3 reptiles and 11 butterflies; beautiful scenery of majestic Himalayan ranges and high altitude glacier lakes are just to name a few. The Samdo village, the highest village in the Budhi Gandaki valley  inhibited by Bhotias, stunning view of  Cheo Himal, Himlung  Himal and Kung Guru, and the biological and cultural diversity are simply very much worth the effort.

The Manaslu Trekking trail encompasses the Annapurna and Manaslu conservation areas, Budhi Gandaki and Marsyangdi valley, Indo-Aryan and Tibetan-influenced habitations and Annapurna and Manaslu circuit trails, making it one of the most fulfilling remote treks in Nepal. This trekking route receives a less number of trekkers compared to the other trekking in Nepal; thus, making it the best  trekking route for trekkers looking to avoid the traffic that is normally found in the Everest and Annapurna route. Moreover, the popularity is rapidly increasing with the growing number of tea houses at everyday stop.

Amigo Treks and Expedition’s 19 days Manaslu Trek with Larkya La Pass is a standard teahouse trekking package that offers the benefits of the full board (meal and accommodation) during the trek and bed and breakfast in a tourist standard hotel in Kathmandu; all ground transportation; required permits, and knowledgeable, licensed and experienced English speaking guide. The package is fully customizable; therefore, can be changed as per your requirements and need. We guarantee departure on all customized packages.  The company also offers a special discount if you bring a group along with you.

This trek can be planned any time of the year; however, spring and autumn are more supportive in terms of weather, visibility and trail. Nevertheless, if you are looking for some other remote trekking routes in Nepal  the Upper Mustang Trek, the Nar Phu Valley Trek , and the Tsum Valley Trek are highly recommended.

Everest Base Camp Trek

★★★★★

WOW, Where do I start? I have wanted to do this trek for about 30 years, so when we decided to book we compared many trekking companies to decide who to go with and #AmigoTrekking scored the best and they certainly lived up to expectations. We had an amazing journey far better than our wildest dreams. There were a few reasons why our trip was so good and here's why. Prior to the Journey: AMIGO Trekking were so professional prior to the journey, answering my numerous emails in the leadup in regards to gear requirements, weight of rental gear and logistics. We communicated with Niti regularly and she always got back to me within 24 hours. This is very important when trying to plan such a trip. Amigo and Niti were also the only company that effortlessly accommodated our desire to extend our stay in Tengboche to attend the festival at the monastery. (November) Once we arrived:  We were greeted at the airport by a very friendly and professional mountain guide 'Hari Adhikari' who immediately helped us navigate our exit from the airport making a very chaotic situation easy. We felt like royalty. Little did we know at that point just how much this one man would shape our trek into the amazing journey it became. For the next 14 days Hari was by our side perfectly pacesetting our speed for success. He steered us to quality tea houses with the best food for breaks, negotiated the best rooms for us every night and even showed us the best spots for pictures along the way. His experience and cheery disposition was very visible with every interaction he had. He seemed to be best friends with every guide, porter and tea house owner we passed. Hence we nicknamed him 'Happy Hari'. No task was too big or small and he made a point of letting us know where he'd be every night (his room number, tent or dining room) in case we needed him. He was not only the main reason for our successful completion of the Trek, but added many enjoyable moments for us as well. If you are lucky enough to have Hari as your guide, make sure you take a pack of UNO cards with you. Hari loves the game! Along with Hari we were also lucky to have on our team an amazing young man Chandra (Sandra) who was our super human porter. He too always wore a smile, even when lugging our bags over rock after rock! Thanks mate, we don't know how you do it. If we can impart one thing we've learned that will make your Trek in Nepal memorable. It's go with Amigo and insist on Hari and Chandra. You won't regret it! Thanks guys, we are forever grateful.
