Overview

Trip overview

A quick summary of the route, support level, and the main things travelers should know before booking.

The Best of Nepal Tour is one of the best packages designed by Amigo Treks and Expedition. This package covers almost all the popular tourist drawcards of Nepal, highlighting those cultural and natural aspects that make Nepal one of the must-visit tourist destinations in the world. This simply is an opportunity to enjoy the best of Nepal in just a single shot.

The trip starts with a guided sightseeing tour of some of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites (Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, Bouddhanath and the Kathmandu Durbar Square) in the Kathmandu Valley, that enthrall you with the craftsmanship and mystery of centuries old captivating architecture, history and culture. From the valley, we now move towards the tropical low land, where another world heritage site ‘Chitwan National Park’ that  protects over 932 sq km of sal forest, water swamps and elephant grassland is located. It is also one of the leading wildlife-viewing  national parks in Asia, where one can spot 50 different species of mammals that include one-horned rhinos, deer, monkeys, royal Bengal Tiger, leopards, wild elephants,  around 450 species of birds and 67 species of butterflies. An insight on the lifestyle and culture of the Tharu people (one of the largest ethnic groups in Nepal) is the additional benefit about this visit. Leaving the wildlife of Chitwan, we now head towards a serene subtropical paradise that sits about 400m lower than Kathmandu and presents the masterpieces of mother nature for people looking to bask in the beauty of nature along with the peaceful countryside experience. With the stunning views of Annapurna massif and Machhapuchhre, this city of lakes exhibits mysterious caves, cascading waterfalls,  historical temples and museums to make the day memorable. Enjoying the sunrise view from Sarangkot, we drive back to Kathmandu ending the 8 days Best of Nepal Tour.

Choosing this package allows you to enjoy full board in Chitwan and Pokhara bed and breakfast in Kathmandu. Accommodation is either arranged in a tourist standard hotel or lodge. Usually breakfast and dinner are provided in the accommodation itself. Lunch is arranged in local restaurant. However, the package can be customized to your requirements and needs. All customized packages guarantee special group discount, 100% departure date and flat rate. Moreover, if you are looking for more destinations, then try our 10 days Nepal Introductory Tour.

This trip can be planned any time of the year; however, the perfect time in is spring (March-july) and Autumn (Sept- mid-December). Any age group can plan this trip to Nepal. It's easy, cost-effective and best if you are looking to include family members. Enjoy the trip!

Everest Base Camp Trek

★★★★★

WOW, Where do I start? I have wanted to do this trek for about 30 years, so when we decided to book we compared many trekking companies to decide who to go with and #AmigoTrekking scored the best and they certainly lived up to expectations. We had an amazing journey far better than our wildest dreams. There were a few reasons why our trip was so good and here's why. Prior to the Journey: AMIGO Trekking were so professional prior to the journey, answering my numerous emails in the leadup in regards to gear requirements, weight of rental gear and logistics. We communicated with Niti regularly and she always got back to me within 24 hours. This is very important when trying to plan such a trip. Amigo and Niti were also the only company that effortlessly accommodated our desire to extend our stay in Tengboche to attend the festival at the monastery. (November) Once we arrived:  We were greeted at the airport by a very friendly and professional mountain guide 'Hari Adhikari' who immediately helped us navigate our exit from the airport making a very chaotic situation easy. We felt like royalty. Little did we know at that point just how much this one man would shape our trek into the amazing journey it became. For the next 14 days Hari was by our side perfectly pacesetting our speed for success. He steered us to quality tea houses with the best food for breaks, negotiated the best rooms for us every night and even showed us the best spots for pictures along the way. His experience and cheery disposition was very visible with every interaction he had. He seemed to be best friends with every guide, porter and tea house owner we passed. Hence we nicknamed him 'Happy Hari'. No task was too big or small and he made a point of letting us know where he'd be every night (his room number, tent or dining room) in case we needed him. He was not only the main reason for our successful completion of the Trek, but added many enjoyable moments for us as well. If you are lucky enough to have Hari as your guide, make sure you take a pack of UNO cards with you. Hari loves the game! Along with Hari we were also lucky to have on our team an amazing young man Chandra (Sandra) who was our super human porter. He too always wore a smile, even when lugging our bags over rock after rock! Thanks mate, we don't know how you do it. If we can impart one thing we've learned that will make your Trek in Nepal memorable. It's go with Amigo and insist on Hari and Chandra. You won't regret it! Thanks guys, we are forever grateful.
