{"id":1324,"date":"2022-09-11T06:55:00","date_gmt":"2022-09-11T06:55:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.amigotrekking.com\/blog\/?p=1324"},"modified":"2022-09-11T06:55:00","modified_gmt":"2022-09-11T06:55:00","slug":"the-glasgow-declaration-a-commitment-to-a-decade-of-tourism-climate-action","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.amigotreks.com.np\/blog\/the-glasgow-declaration-a-commitment-to-a-decade-of-tourism-climate-action\/","title":{"rendered":"THE GLASGOW DECLARATION: A COMMITMENT TO A DECADE OF TOURISM CLIMATE ACTION"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>We declare<\/strong> our shared commitment to uniting all stakeholders in transforming tourism to deliver effective climate action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>We support<\/strong> the global commitment to halve emissions by 2030 and reach Net Zero as soon as possible before 2050.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>We will consistently align<\/strong> our actions with the latest scientific recommendations to ensure our approach remains consistent with a rise of no more than 1.5\u00b0C above pre-industrial levels by 2100.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>As a signatory, we commit to<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Deliver a climate action plan within 12 months of signing.<\/li><li>Report progress publicly against interim and long-term targets, as well as the actions being taken, at least annually.<\/li><li>Align our plan with five shared pathways (measure, decarbonize, regenerate, collaborate, finance) to ensure climate action is consistent across all of tourism.<\/li><li>Share information on activities connected to Tourism Declares and\/or the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oneplanetnetwork.org\/programmes\/sustainable-tourism\/glasgow-declaration\">Glasgow Declaration <\/a>among contacts and networks.<\/li><li>Work in a collaborative and constructive spirit with other members of Tourism Declares and\/or signatories of the Glasgow Declaration.<\/li><\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We declare our shared commitment to uniting all stakeholders in transforming tourism to deliver effective climate action.
